That I will be okay

OK, back to the email...

It is the school term break here, and I had to fill in at my day job – the art facilitation role I do – for an extra couple of shifts. Goodness, the week has taken it out of me. I was so tired, drained, and anxious yesterday. I decided to take all the jittering to the canvas, and gosh, it was good. I shared the Free Play Friday track (a song I select for the Permission to Play community each week as an invitation to play), then put it on repeat while I painted.

It was an emotional experience, honestly. My marks on the canvas were dynamic and vibrant, filled with energy. So much so that my watch started recording a workout session!

That was too funny!

It reminded me of the power of movement when we feel anxious, the power of slapping some paint around, not caring what happens, just having a space to get what’s locked inside OUT!

And it worked.

I felt a difference afterwards. I could have kept painting for hours, most likely, but then the shops sent me a message reminding me I hadn’t collected my shopping in 7 hours!!!

Life hey?

Speaking of life - this was this morning - two pieces of poetry formed while I was simultaneously hanging washing (well, I was meant to be!)

Collection update

I have been working on pieces for my upcoming collection - Living Life in Poetry. So far a whole 12 people have signed up to follow along and have access to the collection when released.
